Traditional tape storage can be a challenge in modern network environments, often requiring dedicated hardware and complex workflows. The ATTO 8100T removes these barriers by converting SAS connectivity into iSCSI over Ethernet, allowing businesses to easily integrate their tape libraries into existing network infrastructures. This enables secure, shared access to tape storage, improving backup efficiency, scalability, and cost-effectiveness while reducing reliance on local server connections.
XstreamCORE 8100T is designed to connect up to 4 SAS Tape drives (not including media changers).
SAS LTO 5 (or) later.
The bridge extends SAS tape storage connectivity through two independent 10Gb Ethernet links across an iSCSI SAN. Please note that iSCSI is only accessible on the 10Gb Ethernet data ports.
